【大美广东】Beautiful Chinese redbuds bloom at SCAU

三月紫荆开，广州高校春意浓

#TheGreatBeautyofGuangdong As winter has faded away into spring, everything begins to revive. Each March and April, pink Chinese redbuds are seen hanging on the branches and swaying in the wind along the streets in Guangzhou.

Recently, people have enjoyed the best period to see the Chinese redbuds on the campus of South China Agricultural University (SCAU).

The SCAU has planted over 8000 various species of Chinese redbuds across the campus. Bauhinia variegata(orchid tree) and Hong Kong orchid tree are the most commonly seen species. The flowering of most Chinese redbuds lasts from late February to March. They are planted everywhere on campus. The best sites to see the flowers include the administration building, Wetland Park, and the lawn between the No.1 and No.2 buildings.

冬去春来，万物复苏，百花烂漫从不缺席岭南的春天，每年三四月份，花城广州的大街小巷道路两旁，常常可见粉色的紫荆花洋洋洒洒挂在枝头，随风摇曳。近期，广州华南农业大学的紫荆花，进入观赏盛花期。

据了解，华农在全校范围有规划地种植不同品种的紫荆花，目前数量已超过8000株，主要以宫粉羊蹄甲、红花羊蹄甲两类紫荆花品种最为常见，多数紫荆花的花期为2月底至3月份，在校园各处均有种植，主要赏花点在学校行政楼和湿地公园片区、教三大草坪周边等。
