Lingnan: Beauty Beyond Borders | There is a street called Zhafen Street in Yuexiu, #Guangzhou, with hustle and bustle in its name. More than a century ago, the Kui Shuang Pavilion was hidden among these bustling #alleys. Liang Dingfen, the owner, once served as a tutor to Puyi, the last emperor of #China, and dedicated his life to promoting education and enlightening the public. In 1910, he renamed the Kui Shuang Pavilion to “Library of Liang Clan Ancestral Hall”, and opened it to the public free of charge. Thus was born the first private #library in Guangzhou open to the public in this food street. The former site of Kui Shuang Pavilion has now been replaced by a residential building. But when we come here, we can still be touched by that sincerity. #SplendidLingnan
