On March 28, the launching ceremony of "Invest in ChinaYear", an investment promotion activity, was held in Guangzhou, Guangdong, known as the "southern gateway" of China. This reflects the central government's recognition of Guangdong, the largest province in attracting foreign investment.

In 2021, Guangdong became the first province in China with a GDP exceeding 12 trillion yuan, with four cities, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, and Dongguan, each having an economic output of over one trillion yuan. Among them, the import and export trade volume exceeded 8 trillion yuan, ranking first among all provinces and cities in China for 36 consecutive years, with actual foreign investment exceeding 180 billion yuan.
